The Winter Park Pub, or as it's better known: "The Pub" is located about 9,000 feet above sea level in downtown Winter Park, Colorado.
The Pub is a local's favorite as well as a destination for tourists from all over the world.
Skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, road bikers, bikers, fly fisherman, ice fisherman, hikers, cross country skiers, goobers, snowmobilers, drinkers, dirt bikers, young, old, and the young at heart alike all call The Pub home after a day of their favorite activities.
The Story of The Pub
The Winter Park Pub began as we know it in the fall of 1994 by a few ski bums looking for a new choice to gather in the limited bar scene in the Winter Park area. With a little luck, and creative financing on personal credit cards, the foundation of the "Pub Program" was started.
Many now infamous traditions were started back then. Jameson bottles lining the rafters, Sunday night disco, and mystery beer night are a few things that have fallen by the wayside. Many traditions remain. Taco Tuesday, $10.95 large pizzas on Saturday, and Bloody Marys during college and Pro football weekends are still popular with our local and traveling clientele.
We Have tried to keep up with the growth of the Fraser valley by expanding our operation in different ways over the years. Around the year 2000 we expanded our kitchen. In 2003, we completed the new dining room and re-modeled the upstairs bar area. Along the way, our outdoor beer-garden has expanded three different times.
Even though there have been a few changes in full time staff and ownership over the years, we try to be true to the vision of the guys that started The Pub in the first place. Offer a place where locals can come to unwind after work or mountain biking or ripping up a powder-day while giving our visitors a memorable ski-town bar experience.
I feel lucky to be a part of the young energy that surrounds The Pub, the kids that work there, and the people that come from all around the world to have fun there. Hopefully, you will have a chance to drop by and see us.
Thanks,
Jeff Williams
